Air Temperature

The whole year one can find between 20-30 degrees Celsius during the day. At night the temperature varies between 12 - 25 degrees (winter / summer).

Water Temperature

The water of the Atlantic is pretty cold (10-18 degrees Celsius) and depends mainly on the water current (not the local wheather). In average, the water is 14-15 degrees cold. For all the watersport enthusiasts: a steamer/shorty for the lake (in summer) and a semi overall (3/4/5mm) for the sea (all year long). In False Bay the water gets usually 2-4 degrees warmer.

Wind

The South Easter, also called Cape Doctor, enlightens all watersport freaks from November until April (Summer Season in South Africa). On some days, one can also enjoy the wind from North West (the main wind direction during winter season, Mai - August).

Waves

South Africa is known as one of the best wave spots around the world. Depending on the spot, the season, etc. one can find between 1 - 4 m high waves. Just pick the spot and wave height which suites you best!

Sail Sizes for Windsurfers

Mainly, sails between 4 and 5.5 square metres are used. Women or lighter surfers go for 1 sqm less.
